Hello everyone,
I have been involved with endurance riding since 2001, where my Mum (Jane Evans) and I did our first pleasure ride at a major ride, competing in a pleasure ride class for the Durham & Teesside Team. Since then we have been hooked and enjoy the sport very much.
I currently have a 15.2 Rose Grey Arab gelding called Rookie. Since losing my previous horse in an accident, Rookie and I are working our way up to advanced level. We are currently at open level at the moment and even though he is a handful at times he does very well at the sport.
I currently organise a few rides, including Cassop Vale which is one of our upcoming competitive rides for the group.
I joined the committee as I am very passionate about the sport and want to promote the group as best I can. As Rides Co-ordinator my aim is to provide our members with a wide variety of rides with different routes to choose from to gain the training and experience they need should they wish to compete through the levels. You can also contact me if you would be interested in organising a ride yourself, or if you would like to volunteer to help out at any of our group rides.
Away from the group I work for South Tees NHS Foundation Trust at The James Cook University Hospital on one of the Orthopaedic / Trauma wards. Although I enjoy catching up with members I hope not to see you here! Even though I work long hours I still manage to attend most rides.
I am out and about at most rides, so feel free to come over and say hello.
