Ride Description
This ride offers some excellent paths and tracks and some lovely countryside views over County Durham and surrounding areas of Sunderland. The route consists of grassy bridleways, open farm land, old railway lines and some country lanes. The route has a lot of varied terrain giving riders the opportunity to train their horses over a variety of tracks and educate the young ones!
This year Hessewell is taking a new approach and is sponsoring the Kentucky World Equestrian Games. The ride is running over 2 days and incorporates much of the normal terrain with a lovely new section in the Bulmer Country Forest Park. The forestry park is full of grassy tracks with lots of long stretches for long canters.
After the ride last year all riders enjoyed a BBQ which was provided by ‘Dave Evans Photography’ free of charge. On offer were sausages, burgers, homemade cakes and drinks. This will be happening again this year and a small donation will be required with all proceeds going towards the Kentucky fund.
We hope to see many of you there and any non members who would like to give it a try.If anyone has any queries or questions or would like to know more, or give a helping hand then please give us a call.
