Durham Valleys 2010

This was a lovely ride, good weather although a little on the cool side, but it got out warmer later on. And this year our riders did not have to negotiate the Car Boot sale!
We had nearly ninety entries when the ride was originally planned for.  But we had horrendous weather and an awful lot of rain, and the landowner asked that we moved the ride for a few weeks, which we did, as the field was sodden and he did not want it churned up – understandable.
But today was near perfect ground and we had seventy two entries, although as is the norm a few did not turn up. 
We had quite a few non members who are very keen to join the group – good news.  We also had our first pony club member – Holly – who went away smiling and had two lovely rosettes to take home with her – well done.
I would like to thank Sylvia Briggs, Jane Evans, Bernie, Pauline and Rachel Pugh, Ian Savage (who managed to read the map and find his way to CP2 – ha ha!) Angela and David and also George Lister – you’re all stars.
Also, a big thank you to Andrew and Angela Moralee who are the landowners.
Please remember to get your entries in for all our other rides – Cassop – first competitive  here, and The Elephant Trees – hosting the groups first 80 km. Also, our World Equestrian Games  support week-end – promises to be excellent.  Maybe a bit of line dancing and bull riding – get dressed up if you want – yahoo!!!
