Ride Description, and Pictures below
The Ashes is a new and exciting ride to be added to the Durham & Teesside ride collection. The ride starts from the Barton Lorry Park and rides over some lovely countryside including many bridle paths, peaceful forestry which has a good mixture of terrain and some stunning grassy tracks over Aske Moor. Riders will also have the opportunity to take in some of the panoramic views over the stunning countryside over Richmondshire.
32km – This route is by far the best distance to do as it is the only route where riders get to ride over Aske Moor and enjoy some of the wonderful views. Whilst on this route riders will have to cross over 3 stream crossing (Please see pics) and there is one section of the ride which crosses through a Military Training Ground. However this is on the Bridleways and will be well marked on the definitive track.
21km – This route is a lovely ride out with mainly grassy tracks, Forestry and open farmland. The forests are very peaceful with some good going available. Anyone wishing to get a taster of an endurance route or simply to have a lovely Sunday morning ride without the longer miles!! This route is for you.
Anyone wishing to do the ride and has any further questions or would like to give a helping hand on the day then please do not hesitate to contact the organiser.
Many Thanks
Jane & Michael
